ASTRO is a mentorship and career exploration platform we built to address the confusion many LaGuardia students face when navigating school resources. Inspired by the need for clarity and access, we created a tool that allows students to log in, complete interactive modules, and connect with alumni mentors, all in one place. Built using React, ASTRO includes features like profile editing, a gamified interview prep experience, career exploration guides, and chatbot support. While we faced challenges with scope and technical integration, we’re proud to have developed a complete, working prototype. Through this project, we learned how to translate a real student need into a functional solution, and we plan to expand the platform with more features and user feedback in the future.
