Astro Duck

Attempted productivity app that involves caring for a cute space duck to incentivize completion of assignments. Was supposed to have an assignment database, a Pomodoro clock, and happiness system.

Notion; being busy students and wanting a cute and fun way to keep track of our assignments

What it does

Two game states: a home screen that shows your spaceship where your space duck resides and a little minigame dodging meteorites.

How we built it

Widely based on Pygame module

Challenges we ran into

Jennie got sick in the middle of the hackathon and wasn't feeling well Time management Two other teammates bailed and made little to no contributions

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It runs Graphics are cute We accomplished a lot for a two person team

What we learned

Better time management We learned how to use Pygame Wiser selection of teammates

What's next for Astro Duck

Fixing all the missing functionalities (implementing database to store assignments, happiness system, Pomodoro timer)
