Project Aether
Accelerating scientific discovery through Artificial Intelligence.
Inspiration
Physics has always relied on mathematics, simulations, and computational methods to explore the universe. At the same time, recent advances in Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI, and scientific machine learning have created new opportunities to assist researchers in solving complex problems.
Project Aether was born from the idea of combining these two worlds.
Instead of building another chatbot, the goal is to create an intelligent scientific assistant capable of understanding physics concepts, reasoning over mathematical equations, executing simulations, analyzing research papers, and helping scientists accelerate discoveries.
This project explores how autonomous AI agents can collaborate to perform tasks traditionally executed by researchers, such as literature review, symbolic mathematics, numerical simulations, hypothesis generation, and scientific report creation.
Objectives
Project Aether aims to provide:
- AI-powered scientific assistants
- Physics-aware reasoning
- Mathematical equation interpretation
- Autonomous literature review
- Simulation orchestration
- Multi-agent collaboration
- Research workflow automation
Architecture
The platform is built around specialized AI agents.
Each agent has a single responsibility and collaborates with others through an orchestration layer.
Example agents include:
- Physics Agent
- Mathematics Agent
- Research Agent
- Literature Review Agent
- Simulation Agent
- Visualization Agent
- Report Generation Agent
This modular architecture allows each component to evolve independently while remaining reusable across different scientific domains.
Current Features
- Scientific question answering
- Mathematical reasoning
- PDF paper analysis
- Scientific knowledge retrieval (RAG)
