What Astral Motors does

  • Recommends Toyota car financing/leasing options based on needs and preferences with a smart AI assistant in real time
  • Compare payment plans and car options
  • Tracks loan/lease payment progress and show if you’re staying on track

How we built it

  • Google AI Studio
  • Frontend: Typescript, React, CSS
  • Backend: Gemini API

Challenges we ran into

  • AI Studio clears the conversation history including version checkpoints when we close a tab
  • Images could not be accessed locally on AI Studio (Changed to directly linking to Toyota’s site)
  • Ran out of Gemini API quota quickly (within the app)
  • AI Studio unintentionally redesigning existing features
  • Lack of understanding of Typescript initially.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We have a really polished and integrated demo which we didn't expect in the time limit we had.
  • Completed a fully functional website with AI help everywhere
  • Cosmo assistant uses your full user data

What we learned

  • Differences between car financing/leasing. Also, we learned how powerful AI can be for efficiency.
  • The immense power of Google AI Studio (Gemini 2.5 Pro) and when manual debugging is better

What's next for Astral Motors

  • Add a manager account who can approve and keep track of committed customers and a documentation-submitting system for the customer to submit digital contracts
  • Add a persistent database.
  • Link each car to the Toyota website.
  • Use more official car data
  • Fix minor inconsistencies in the “on track” indicator in loan/lease payment. • Integrate third-party payment options such as banks, Paypal, Stripe
