💡 Inspiration

The next generation won’t open a trading chart — they’ll open a game. We were inspired by how complex finance excludes most people, and how gaming can make learning and mastery fun. AsTrade was born from the idea of turning perpetual trading into a journey — where exploration, learning, and earning coexist in a single cosmic universe.

🚀 What it does

AsTrade transforms DeFi trading into an immersive space adventure. Players complete missions, execute real perpetual trades on Starknet, and earn XP, rewards, and NFTs. Each mission teaches real trading concepts while progressing in the game — creating a bridge between education, entertainment, and real market experience.

We’ve also integrated exclusive rewards and benefits for VESU participants, encouraging cross-community engagement, and added cross-chain capabilities through Atomiq, allowing users to withdraw or bridge funds from Bitcoin and other ecosystems seamlessly.

🧠 How we built it

We built AsTrade using:

  • React Native for a smooth, cross-platform mobile experience.
  • FastAPI and Supabase for backend services, authentication, and data persistence.
  • Extended API for real perpetual trading integration.
  • Cavos for invisible Starknet wallet onboarding via Google/Apple login.
  • Atomiq integration for cross-chain withdrawals (BTC and more).
  • Dockerized infrastructure for scalable deployments.

We designed the architecture to evolve with Dojo for future on-chain missions and progression tracking.

🧩 Challenges we ran into

Building an experience that balances real trading with game mechanics was tough. We had to:

  • Simplify complex DeFi concepts without losing accuracy.
  • Integrate secure wallet onboarding while keeping UX frictionless.
  • Synchronize live trade execution with gamification logic and player state.
  • Manage cross-chain interoperability with Atomiq and maintain consistent user experience.
  • Build for scalability while preparing to go fully on-chain with Dojo.

  • Designed an onboarding flow that makes Starknet feel invisible — one tap and you’re in.
  • Created a gamified learning experience that teaches trading through play.
  • Integrated Atomiq for BTC withdrawals and VESU incentives for early adopters.
  • Developed a robust backend ready for on-chain expansion.

📚 What we learned

We learned that Web3 UX must feel like Web2, and education must feel like a game. Integrating real trading data, wallet management, cross-chain operations, and gamification requires a fine balance — but when done right, it turns complex finance into accessible, enjoyable exploration.
