We were inspired by our love of space exploration combined with a deep nostalgia for flash platformers.

What it does

It's a game where you are thrown into a field of spinning asteroids, and you have to jump from one to the next for as far as you can.

How we built it

This project was developed in unity, using c# scripts. The sprites and other artistic assets were developed in Aseprite. The music and SFX were created in FL Studio.

Challenges we ran into

There were quite a few features and bits of polish that we wanted to include but ran out of time. Specifically we wanted to add additional obstacles like asteroids that would fall apart and black holes that would suck you in if you got too close.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of how smooth the jumping and flying feels. Also we are proud of the games difficulty, it is not too hard but it is by no means easy.

What we learned

We learned how to set a realistic timeframe and goals. Additionally we learned how to collaborate remotely using unity.

What's next for Asteroid Jump!

We hope to keep developing it into a polished full fledged mobile game!
