What Inspired Us
We started this project because we wanted to help people who have trouble seeing or moving around on the computer. Seeing their difficulties motivated us to make something that could make their online tasks easier.
What We Learned
While creating AssistAlly we learnt that there is a huge potential in AI that is left untouched. We understood how to use AI to automate our web browser tasks and the capability of its decision making. We also introduced AI to a new potential market. We realized that we needed to understand exactly what challenges these people face. Learning about their struggles helped us design a solution that would truly help them.
How We Made It
We used openAI's API key to create an AI virtual helper that can understand and talk back and made a chrome extension to operate on web browser. We tested it with various different voice commands to iteratively prompt engineer
Challenges We Faced
Making our helper understand different ways of speaking was tough. We also had to make sure it could work on different websites and programs, which was a bit tricky. We had to maneuver our way through various GPT prompts to get accurate results.
Why It Matters
Our project is more than just a thing we made. It's our promise to make things better for these people. We heard their stories and worked hard to create something that gives them more freedom. With the help of modern technology and the people we're helping, our project shows that we can make a positive difference in the world.
What's next for AssistAlly
Next, we're dedicated to refining AssistAlly based on user feedback, expanding its capabilities to handle even more tasks seamlessly. We're also working on mobile integration, ensuring accessibility on the go. Our ultimate goal is to make AssistAlly a global tool for empowerment, enhancing lives worldwide.
