Inspiration
Our inspiration for the assignment organizer was the lack of organization in the basic school-loop assignment list and the mental health problems that may have sprung from it. Our iOS application helps schedule and keep track of all tasks to minimize the stress that students experience.
What it does
The app automatically color codes the assignments by subject, allows for the student to schedule a time in a calendar to finish the assignment, and includes all assignment information that SchoolLoop does.
How we built it
We used swift and c++ and the help of mentors to build it. We used Xcode to design the iOS application.
Challenges we ran into
In the beginning, our javascript code did not allow us to web scrape from school-loop. In addition, we had to account for many variables to take into account of all the tabs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got the API's to work.
What we learned
We learned some new coding languages, such as swift and python. In addition, we learned some new techniques, including web scraping.
What's next for Assignments Organizer
In the future, Assignments Organizer will connect to more apps, such as Calendar, to improve the user’s organization. The app will send notifications to the user before the selected time to complete the homework.
