🧠 Inspiration

We recognized the urgent need to make financial literacy more accessible, especially to youth and underserved communities. Many people struggle with understanding essential concepts like budgeting, saving, investing, and debt. To address this, we created AssetWise AI, an engaging and voice-accessible app that delivers AI-generated quizzes to make financial education interactive and memorable.

🚀 What It Does

AssetWise AI is an AI-powered financial literacy platform that offers:

  • An intelligent financial advisor chat using Azure OpenAI (GPT-4o)
  • Voice narration for accessibility, powered by Eleven Labs TTS
  • A beginner-friendly quiz module that generates custom finance questions
  • Practical financial calculators (budget, savings, loans)
  • Real-time feedback, visual charts, and voice support for every feature
  • A mobile-responsive, visually appealing, and inclusive UI

🛠️ How We Built It

  • Frontend: React with Vite for fast build times and development
  • AI Services: Azure OpenAI for chat, Gemini for quiz logic
  • TTS: Eleven Labs for high-quality voice output, with fallback to Web Speech API
  • Voice Input: Web Speech API for speech-to-text input
  • Hosting: Deployed on Netlify

🧩 Challenges We Ran Into

  • Initial deployment difficulties due to configuration errors, which we resolved by switching to Netlify.
  • Browser inconsistencies with speech recognition support (STT fallback handled).
  • Ensuring a smooth experience across desktop and mobile with voice interaction.

  • Collaborate with schools, NGOs, and fintech startups to roll out AssetWise AI in real-world learning environments.
  • Integrate Supabase or Firebase to store user progress and quiz results.
