Inspiration

Managing investments across multiple platforms is a headache. Stocks, funds, real estate, gold, and private holdings all live in different places, and it’s nearly impossible to see your full portfolio at a glance. I built a single, simple app that gives investors clarity, control, and confidence, that also made investing fun.

What it does

AssetVerse lets you track every investment, both live and offline, in one place. Get real-time prices for listed assets, set reminders for amortizations or coupon payments for non-listed holdings, manually log values, and unlock premium insights like portfolio diversification, country and sector exposure, and risk alerts.

How I built it

I used SwiftUI for a smooth iOS experience, Firebase for backend storage and auth, and public APIs for real-time asset prices. Offline support ensures you can log and track non-listed assets, and I implemented push notifications for reminders and portfolio alerts. The UI focuses on clarity, showing your total portfolio value, allocation, and trends in seconds.

Challenges I ran into

• Aggregating live and offline data in a way that feels seamless
  
• Designing a simple onboarding flow that gives immediate value without overwhelming new users
  
• Handling reminders, amortizations, and manual price updates for non-listed assets
  

Accomplishments that I proud of

• Created a fully functional portfolio tracker in a weekend
• Made non-listed investments first-class citizens, including reminders and amortization tracking
  
• Delivered a polished, demo-ready experience with instant portfolio insights and smart nudges and year in review

What I learned

• Users love seeing immediate value; the demo portfolio was key to engagement
  
• Simple heuristics and visual cues (like concentration warnings) can make an app feel “intelligent” without complex algorithms
  
• Balancing manual entry vs automation is critical for both accuracy and ease of use
  

What's next for AssetVerse

• Add broker/API integrations for automated syncing of listed assets
  
• Expand premium analytics: correlations, volatility, and optimization suggestions
  
• Multi-currency support and richer portfolio scenario simulations
  
• Refine notifications and reminders to make the app proactive in helping users manage their wealth
• Add cryptocurrencies
