Custom Airtable Block. Built based on a need to store annotations and markups on assets for content in a central, collaborative repository. For example, in cases of photo shoots, a place where photographers/producers/asset managers can upload photos, and have an art director comment, rate, label, and draw markups in process of making selects and requesting revisions.
Key features include a gallery UI for setting ratings and labels, persistence of markups by storing Canvas data in Airtable, and ability to download a composite file of an image with markups.
This is an initial POC, with additional features planned but not implemented due to time limitations. Planned enhancements:
- Brush size and color options
- Ratings, labels, and notes UI when viewing individual attachments, and navigation/pagination of asset records
- Contact sheet printing functionality
- Auto-save functionality
- Additional dialogs and notices, such as warnings when changes are not saved
