Inspiration

We are inspired by the gamified elements in shopping apps nowadays such as Shopee. With these gamified elements, we believe we can inculcate good values in the boys through quests and tasks.

What it does

The web app is a minimart together with a task redemption process to earn vouchers.

How we built it

We used the MERN stack. (MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.)

Frontend: React, CSS

Backend: Node.js, Express

Database: MongoDB

We developed this application with strong emphasis on user experience for both the boys and the admin staffs.

Challenges we ran into

Due to lack of experience with web application development, we were plagued with gaps in technical knowledge when it comes to implementing the MERN stack.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of implementing Email Verification which boosts the security of our application. Ensuring that user accounts are verified.

What we learned

We practiced software engineering and structured our development timeline for smooth development of features.

What's next for AspireMart

Leaderboard feature to reward boys who completed most quests and tasks every month. Search filtering to improve browsing experience. Pre-order feature.
