Inspiration

The idea for our web application stems from a recent trend on social media where people wish to motivate themselves by having an image of their future selves. By developing AspireAI, we desire to motivate individuals toward their personal and professional goals, eliminating a large barrier in the form of complexity and planning. Many people struggle to stay focused or envision their future selves achieving their dreams. We aim to change that by providing an interactive experience that encourages goal-setting, guided by AI-driven generative storytelling to give users a compelling glimpse into their potential.

What it does

Our web application helps users define, set, and achieve their goals. Users can:

• Ask AI for tailored guidance on career or general life goals.
• Receive actionable advice and recurring tasks/events to maintain progress.
• Integrate these tasks seamlessly into Google Calendar
• Use story-generative AI features to create vivid, inspiring narratives about their future selves, promoting motivation and self-belief.

How we built it

• Backend: We used Flask as our web framework and SQLAlchemy to manage and interact with the database. The OpenAI API powers our generative AI capabilities, providing personalized prompts and stories for users.
• Frontend: The frontend is developed using Tailwind CSS for styling, with HTML and JavaScript enabling interactive elements and playing a key part in maintaining a smooth user experience.

Challenges we ran into

• Integrating Google Calendar API for seamless scheduling presented hurdles with authentication and data synchronization.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Successfully combining generative AI with user-driven task planning for a unique motivational tool.
• Creating a clean and engaging frontend experience that makes it easy for users to interact with and stay motivated. -Delegating tasks to each team member based on their strengths, whilst also challenging members by providing them some smaller tasks where they felt less comfortable.
• Developing an AI-powered story generation system that inspires users by showing what their future selves might achieve.
