Inspiration

What it does - Translates the ASL alphabet using ur gestures.

How we built it - Using python, openAI, and a bit of html.

Challenges we ran into - Many, forgot to save, teachable machine kept on crashing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - Getting the webcam to actually work was crazy.

What we learned - We learnt to always save our work consistently.

What's next for ASL Translation - Making it more accurate, getting more than just the alphabet done with.

I focused on creating the code for the html + python. I made sure that the code was accurate, and fixed any errors that persisted in it.

I focused on developing the AI model on Teachable Machine. I used the ASL alphabet to train the machine on all the alphabet in different lighting conditions and angles. In total there were about 500 training images for each of the 26 letters. The model achieved a very good accuracy, but it can still be improved.
