Inspiration

AskTabs was inspired by the idea of turning tab chaos into instant, AI-powered clarity.

What it does

It eliminates manual searching by extracting and synthesizing tab content with AI.

How we built it

It leverages Chrome Extensions APIs and Google Gemini via a Vercel-hosted backend.

Challenges we ran into

We also had to handle performance, permissions, and API rate limits carefully.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Delivering accurate AI responses while keeping user privacy intact was a major win.

The project deepened our understanding of UX, performance, and AI integration.

What's next for AskTabs

We plan to add Firefox support, advanced filtering, and conversation export. Future updates include voice input, multi-language support, and smarter tab organization.
