Inspiration
We believe there is a lot of room for improvement in the communication between students and teachers. In fact, most of us have heard teachers say that our questions during class is probably the same as that of many others in class. The number one question goes along the lines of "what does that mean?" or "can you explain that again?" However, not every student feels comfortable sharing their questions with the whole class, so this is a good opportunity to use technology in favor of them.
What it does
When the student presses the button (on the pencil case), it sends a pre-defined message via wi-fi to the teacher's computer (our website).
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
I had too many mini oreos.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We actually made the minimum viable product work on time!
What we learned
What's next for AskMyProfessor
That's up to our users to say, but we need to find a way to customize the messages sent to the teachers. Moreover, education and teaching styles is a big challenge to get right for every student. We hope people can use our pencil case to create new ways to communicate with teachers (customize the pre-defined messages for each of the buttons).
