Inspiration
As students, we often found ourselves reading our own notes before exams and still feeling confused. Even after attending lectures, notes were sometimes messy, rushed, or hard to understand. This common struggle motivated us to build AskMyNotes.
What it does
AskMyNotes is an AI-powered web app designed to help students truly understand their notes. Students can upload their notes, and the app breaks them down into simple explanations, short summaries, and exam-oriented questions, making revision much easier and more effective.
How we built it
We built AskMyNotes as a web application with a Python-based backend and a simple web interface. Gemini 3 plays a key role by analyzing the uploaded notes and intelligently generating explanations, summaries, and relevant question–answer sets from the content.
Challenges we faced
One of the biggest challenges was working with notes that vary in structure, length, and clarity. Ensuring that the AI responses stayed simple, accurate, and student-friendly required careful prompt design and multiple iterations to improve consistency.
What we learned
This project helped us understand how to use Gemini 3 in a practical application. We learned how to design effective prompts, integrate AI into a web workflow, and build a solution focused on solving a real student problem.
Future scope
In the future, AskMyNotes can be extended to support handwritten notes, multiple languages, and personalized study suggestions based on individual learning patterns.
