NOTE (!!IMPORTANT) the UI was coded before start of the hackathon. Everything else, the functionality, the curosr, the AI integration/AI tutor etc was all coded during the hackathon.
Inspiration
George.
Mo and Zk were j chilling. Then George comes along (freshman yr for ZK an jr yr for Mo) and inspires them to take up/resume coding and build startups.
Since then, it's all we've done and all we plan to do going forward.
In the future, education, the school system, will not be about learning skills in a rigid manner, forcing people to sit through tests and do homework. Instead, we will want to, as we will have found our passion and be exploring what most interests us.
However, to do that, we must first find what we are talented and passionate about. That takes time and has a lot of friction, so we don't do it. Instead we doom scroll and continue on with our existing repertoire of skills and interests as exploring another one is just too difficult.
We hope to fix that. We hope to reduce the friction and time needed to try and become competent in new disciplines so people can find their passions and learn because they want to, not because they are forced.
What it does
Teaches u AI. Basically Cursor + personal tutor. 1) helps u build it so u can see, wow I can build a website this easily, gets u hooked/interested. 2) explains terms simply, constantly relating to ur interests. keeps u engaged and builds confidence. 3) repeat until user is confident to build by themselves.
How we built it
no sleep. no homework. bad test grades and lots of caffeine.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting the VSCode/Online cursor element with the rest of the frontend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building the cursor functionality. Integrating the APIs to GPT. Designing a decent looking frontend.
