COVID has become the NEW NORMAL. These days, the distances between people are no longer just due to breakups, it’s due to social distancing as well. Adjusting in this new environment, we, the Team 405 Found, have tried to shed light upon one of the most common questions among people, i.e., “When should I be hospitalized for COVID?”
Recently, my friend’s father was diagnosed with covid positive. He was home quarantined. He used to have some breathing problems before, but one day suddenly, he felt a difficulty in breathing and fainted. On the way to rushing him to the hospital, he passed away. This incident made us realize that people are unaware of when a patient needs immediate medical attention or needs to be rushed to a hospital. Also, we see a lot of people living in paranoia and admitting to the hospital when there is no such need. This leads to heavy hospital bills, and also people contacting the coronavirus on staying in the hospital itself is a huge problem.
We conducted a survey, and we found that 95.2% of the respondents feel the need for an application that can predict whether a patient needs immediate medical attention or not.
Considering these problem statements, our team came up with an idea that can be one of the solutions. “ASK NO MORE”, a mobile application that takes a patient's health condition as an input and predicts if he/she needs to be hospitalized. This app monitors the oxygen level, temperature, and other common symptoms of COVID and predicts whether the patient needs immediate medical attention or not.
We plan to move forward with this idea in 3 phases. First, we ensure the usability of the product and then move forward with a partnership with hospitals providing COVID related services. In the final phase, we plan to transit to a health monitoring system where our business revenue model will be on a commission basis.
