Inspiration

Women's health is often shrouded in silence, misinformation, and stigma. Many women hesitate to ask questions or seek help due to fear of judgment. We wanted to create a platform that empowers women to openly discuss their health concerns and get accurate, compassionate answers. Ask Anya is our effort to break the taboo, offering a safe space for women to ask anything, anytime, and receive reliable, supportive responses.

What it does

Ask Anya is an intelligent, empathetic virtual assistant designed to answer women's health questions. Powered by Google's Vertex AI, it provides accurate information on a wide range of topics, from menstrual health and pregnancy to menopause and other women health related issues. Users can ask Anya anything, and she will respond with curated, trustworthy information, creating a supportive environment for women to explore their health concerns without fear.

How we built it

We built Ask Anya using Google’s Vertex AI Agent Builder, leveraging its advanced natural language processing capabilities to create a responsive and intelligent bot. We curated a comprehensive database of women’s health resources to ground Anya’s responses in accurate, up-to-date information. Our team focused on ensuring that Anya to provide correct answers.

One of the main challenges was curating a diverse and exhaustive resource database to ensure Anya could accurately address a wide range of health issues.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of creating a platform that genuinely supports women in their health journeys. Seeing Anya provide reliable answers and knowing it can make a real difference in someone’s life is incredibly rewarding. Successfully integrating advanced AI technology with a human touch to break the silence around women's health is an achievement we cherish.

What we learned

Throughout this project, we learned building a functional AI is one thing, but making it truly helpful and supportive is another. We also gained deeper insights into the varied and complex health issues women face, reinforcing our commitment to providing accurate and compassionate support. Also Vertex AI Agent builder customization was easier than we imagine it would be

What's next for Ask Anya

We plan to expand Ask Anya’s capabilities by incorporating more health topics and personalizing responses further to individual users' needs. We're also looking into multilingual support to reach more women globally.
