Asian Hate Crimes Data Visualizations

What inspired you

We were able to learn about the impacts of Asian Hate Crime, which is especially relevant to me as a Japanese American.

What it does

This project informs the correlation between Asian Hate Crimes and general hate crimes, and how much of an impact Asian Hate Crimes have on the society.

How we built it

I looked online for data relevant to Asian Hate Crimes and we were able to manipulate the data using R.

Challenges we ran into

It was hard to look for datasets online and there were lots of NAs that we had to omit.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that we were able to work on the visualizations without any specific instructions.

What we learned

One thing we learned is that hate crimes are generally decreasing opposed to the generally increasing Asian Hate Crimes.

What's next for Asian Hate Crimes Data Visualizations

We would want to work on the same steps but with more data to manipulate and analyze.
