Inspiration
ASHA Vani was inspired by the real communication gap in women’s healthcare, especially for adolescent girls and community-level health workers. Many girls hesitate to talk about puberty, menstrual health, or emotional stress due to fear, stigma, or lack of safe spaces. At the same time, ASHA workers handle critical healthcare responsibilities but still rely on paperwork and language-heavy systems. We wanted to build a solution that gives women and girls a voice-first, judgment-free platform while also supporting ASHA workers with simple digital tools.
What it does
ASHA Vani is a voice-first, multilingual AI health platform designed for two user groups. For adolescent girls and women, it provides AI-based guidance on puberty, menstrual health, and basic well-being through voice or text in their preferred language. For ASHA workers, it offers structured digital forms for tasks such as attendance, family planning, child vaccination, and patient tracking, helping reduce manual effort and improve accessibility.
How we built it
We built ASHA Vani as a multi-platform system. An Android app prototype demonstrates voice interaction and core health modules, while a web-based AI application (built using Lovable) showcases the broader system architecture, UI/UX, and multiple healthcare workflows. The AI logic is designed as a lightweight, explainable system that classifies user input and provides contextual responses. The platform supports multilingual design and modular expansion, allowing easy addition of new health domains and forms.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was time constraint, which required us to prioritize a stable core over full feature completion. Another challenge was balancing multiple user needs adolescent girls, women, and ASHA workers within a single platform. Team coordination and aligning implementation depth with the project vision was also challenging, especially under hackathon pressure.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of building a working, socially relevant prototype that goes beyond a single-feature app. ASHA Vani demonstrates real-world feasibility by combining AI guidance, voice interaction, multilingual access, and operational healthcare forms. Most importantly, the project addresses a sensitive problem with empathy, inclusivity, and practical design.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned the importance of MVP-focused development, clear system architecture, and user-centric design. We gained hands-on experience with AI-driven decision logic, rapid prototyping, and presenting complex healthcare ideas in a simple, understandable way. We also learned how critical communication and collaboration are in team-based innovation.
What's next for Asha Vani - IntelliX
In the future, we plan to expand ASHA Vani with more Indian languages, deeper AI-driven health insights, offline support, and secure integration with healthcare professionals and NGOs. We also aim to enhance the ASHA worker dashboard with analytics, report generation, and government-health system compatibility to make ASHA Vani a scalable, real-world healthcare solution.
