Inspiration
To make EV charging truly sustainable and efficient by combining green hydrogen with domestic energy use.
What it does
Generates electricity from green hydrogen to charge EVs and recovers waste heat for home use, achieving up to 90% energy efficiency.
How we built it
We designed a micro-CHP system using hydrogen cylinders, a fuel cell, battery storage, and a thermal recovery unit for cogeneration.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing system efficiency, safely storing hydrogen at home, and integrating EV charging with domestic heat recovery.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Achieving a system design that nearly doubles energy efficiency and combines clean EV charging with usable home heat.
What we learned
Hydrogen fuel cells can provide sustainable energy for homes and EVs, but integration and safety are critical considerations.
What's next for ASFC
Prototype testing, optimizing performance, and exploring scalable solutions for wider adoption in sustainable households.
