Inspiration
We were inspired by the amazing functionality of Google Maps and the capabilities of it to spread information in a peculiar way. Additionally, we noticed that within the chaos of the pandemic, healthcare workers did not have an immediate and convenient way to quickly and centrally share information and to colleauges near them.
What it does
Our solution is a web application that allows healthcare professionals to quickly and easily drop their current geolocations to others and spread COVID-19 patient information. Once they have their information uploaded, their colleagues and other non healthcare workers will be able to view the public information on a convenient Google Maps format.
How we built it
The web application was initially developed in good old HTML and CSS, which we later converted into JSX using the React Javascript library. For hosting, we are using the free Heroku hosting service. Additionally, we decided to use simpler software applications such as the Google Suite Tools that are already publicly available and combine them into a working product.
What's next for
We plan to regularly push out updates and features that will enable all of our users to upload more information and provide new ways of representation that will be easier for all to use and share.
