Inspiration

We thought after hearing the prompt that creating a useful app that could hopefully help other people build healthy habits was a good fit.

What it does

Ascend uses cloudflare's AI to give personalized daily quests to help the user stay on track and reach their ultimate goal.

How we built it

We used claude code to AI engineer the project and implement a database through supabase, Next.js for the project structure, integrated Cloudflare AI for quest generation, building the gamification system, and making custom CSS animations. Claude helped us quickly implement features, debug issues, and ship this entire project in less than a day.

Challenges we ran into

We spent a lot of time designing our project, and redesigning our project. We research new technologies like how to implement Cloudflare and Supabase. This was our first time using Claude as well. We had ran into git hub merge branch problems and was really hung up since this is our teams first every hack.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first ever hackathon and it went alot better than we had planned. We used multiple new technologies and had to research and learn as we went along.

What we learned

We learned how to resolve architectural conflicts in github, how to use Claude Code to Engineer our app from one of the seminars attended, We learned how to integrate AI into a working app, and learned how to setup and build our own database to store data.

What's next for Ascend

Our app with some funding can scale to support a large user base, but we built this app to help with stay on track with your future goals and build healthy habits. We don't plan on marketing and selling our product at the moment, this was a fun learning experience.
