The inspiration for Artx stemmed from recognizing the need for a secure and transparent platform within the art market. The prevalence of counterfeit artworks and the lack of easily accessible provenance records highlighted the necessity for a solution that could provide a reliable and immutable record of an artwork's history.
What it does
Artx is a blockchain-based art sales platform that leverages decentralized ledger technology to ensure artwork authenticity and provenance tracking. It enables artists to tokenize their art, creating a unique digital representation of each piece, and facilitates transparent, secure transactions using smart contracts.
How we built it
We embarked on building Artx by conducting in-depth research into blockchain technology and its potential application in the art industry—the development process involved utilizing Solidity for smart contract creation, web development technologies for the user interface, and metamask for the crypto wallet.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges we encountered during the development of Artx was striking a balance between the intricacies of blockchain technology and providing an intuitive user experience.
