What It Does

Artistry Havens: A Bridge Between Tradition and Technology

Artistry Havens is more than just an app — it is a trusted companion for artisans who carry generations of creativity in their hands but often feel left behind in today’s digital world.

Many artisans struggle with reading, writing, or navigating apps in English, and this becomes a barrier to showcasing their work. That is why Artistry Havens is fully multilingual and supports voice navigation. Artisans can speak to the app in their own language, and it guides them through every step so they never feel lost or dependent on others.

With just a phone number login, they can upload a picture of their craft, and our AI assistant handles the rest — naming the product, writing its story, and generating social media posts. This allows artisans to focus on their art while the app handles the digital side.

Buyers can purchase products or collaborate with artisans for custom creations, while sponsors can discover artisans, support them, and form transparent partnerships.

At its core, Artistry Havens is not just a marketplace — it is a space where language is never a barrier, stories are celebrated, and artisans finally gain the dignity, visibility, and sustainable income they deserve.

How We Built It

Technology Stack

Artistry Havens is built using a modern and scalable stack with React, Tailwind CSS, and Node.js, with the frontend hosted on Firebase. The backend is manually integrated for complete control over APIs and data flows.

We also integrated advanced AI tools including the Generative AI API, Vertex AI, Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, and Genkit, enabling voice navigation, multilingual interaction, and automated content generation across the app.

Challenges We Ran Into

  • Designing for low-literacy users:
Creating an interface that works through voice, gestures, and minimal text required multiple design iterations and real-world testing.

  • Multilingual accuracy:
Ensuring speech-to-text and text-to-speech worked smoothly across different accents and dialects was a major technical challenge.

  • AI storytelling quality:
Getting the AI to generate culturally accurate product stories without losing authenticity took extensive prompt tuning and refinement.

  • Manual backend integration:
Connecting Firebase with our custom Node.js backend involved handling authentication flows, syncing issues, and API structuring.

  • Balancing automation with culture:
Ensuring AI enhanced artisans’ voices without overshadowing their identity required thoughtful UX decisions.

Global USPs (Still Undeveloped Worldwide)

  • Voice-first, multilingual marketplace for low-literacy artisans
  • Photo-to-storefront AI that generates product names, stories, and social posts automatically
  • AI-powered cultural storytelling that preserves craft heritage
  • Direct buyer–artisan collaboration for custom creations with AI translation support
  • Sponsor–artisan transparency system for real-time discovery and support
  • A platform designed specifically for non-digital artisans, not general online sellers

Building Artistry Havens showed us the importance of accessibility, simplicity, and cultural sensitivity. We learned that technology must adapt to people—not the other way around. Multilingual voice support, intuitive workflows, and AI-generated content can remove barriers that many platforms overlook. Most importantly, we realized how impactful it is to blend tradition and technology with empathy and deep user understanding.

What’s Next for Artistry Havens

Next, we aim to introduce a collaboration hub for custom orders, enhanced sponsor engagement tools, and offline-first support for low-connectivity regions. Our goal is to scale the platform globally while preserving the authenticity, culture, and dignity of artisans everywhere.
