Inspiration

We wanted to find a solution to stop burnout before it's too late. Our group members have faced countless issues with burnout on their hobbies, and we wanted to create a website that helps prevent burnout instead of trying to resolve it after it's set in.

What it does

Our website offers personalized inspiration for artists based on their skill level and style, while also giving them the option to spice up their inspiration to different mediums in order to keep their hobby fresh and prevent burnout. We also have a daily tracker to track the user's progress on their hobby, giving them a sense of progress and making sure they don't do too much or too little.

How we built it

We built it with nextjs, react, js, python, and icrawler.

Challenges we ran into

We had unsupported images being scraped leading to errors displaying the images. One of our group members couldn't stay for the entire project, so we had to adjust our strategy and design plans to account for the lack of frontend experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the styling of the website, the tracker portion of the website that motivates users, and the fact that we set up a working and finished website in under 24 hours.

What we learned

We learned how to use React, the icrawler library for image scraping, and how to collaborate on a website with a team.

What's next for Artistic Inspiration Center

Deploying the project to a website. Support for more hobbies, including writing, music production, photography, and many more are all planned for Artistic Inspiration Center! Additional features such as a portfolio that allows users to submit their projects and see their progress over time, or an event recommender to connect like-minded artists.
