How we built itWe built ArtisanCheck AI using Bolt for rapid development and deployment, and Novus.ai to track real usage and map the codebase from day one. The system integrates AI‑based verification logic with a clean, mobile‑friendly interface designed for accessibility in communities like Computer Village and Nithub in Lagos.

Challenges we ran intoOur biggest challenge was ensuring smooth data flow between Bolt and Novus.ai while keeping the app lightweight for mobile users. We also faced difficulties designing a verification process that felt trustworthy yet simple for artisans with limited tech experience

Accomplishments we’re proud of We successfully launched a working prototype that generates real skill cards, mapped the full codebase with Novus.ai, and received positive feedback from early testers in Lagos. Seeing artisans use the app to showcase their skills was our proudest moment.

What we learnedWe learned how powerful AI can be in solving local problems and how important user‑centered design is when building for informal communities. We also gained hands‑on experience integrating analytics and deployment tools efficiently.

What's next for Artisan check AINext, we plan to expand ArtisanCheck AI across Nigeria, add multilingual support, and integrate blockchain‑based verification for added trust. We’ll also partner with local trade associations to help artisans use their verified profiles to access more jobs and training opportunities.
