Inspiration

Before any surgery is performed, there is surely a bit of tension felt for the patient, as well as their loved ones. For some surgeries, life or quality of life may be threatened just to even attempt success. In the challenge of "Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better," I had felt that the best moment for this would be post-surgery, during recovery.

What it does

Within the website, the patient is greeted with congratulations, is shown a short video, and is able to be introduced to the Arthrex brand and everything that they do to enable surgeons and enhance patient care worldwide.

How we built it

Usually my preference is to build with NextJS, but I felt that static HTML, CSS and JavaScript worked to deliver on our challenge while optimizing on memory and performance across all modalities. IDE of choice was Cursor, deployed to GitHub pages for preview.

Challenges we ran into

Building the media used for the video was a challenge. Three clips of stock video were found, then were combined and trimmed into one mp4 video.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I had recently dealt with a family member having to go to the hospital for surgery, and this project really gave me the opportunity to utilize this experience to build something that I feel is a value-positive product.

What we learned

I learned a tremendous amount about Arthrex and the enormity of products and services that they provide.

What's next for Arthrex Challenge submission- Call-To-Life Website

To build it out further, I would incorporate the page into a full stack app with login, databases, and additional features.
