What is the problem your solution addresses?

Although many social platforms exist in the market, there are a few that actively support artists and the sharing of their artwork. For example, Instagram — the largest social platform for artists — excludes an in-app re-share feature, which impacts artists by enabling the propagation privacy of their work. Despite that, many artists use these platforms without an alternative, providing content and services that attract users to the platform: a negative-feedback loop that hurts artistic ownership of artists’ own work. From our research, many artists on these platforms do not feel secure posting their artwork. Plenty have a “do not repost” description within their social bios after dealing with non-consensual usage of their work.

To address this, we want to provide a social experience that puts artists first. We aim to have artists feel secure and comfortable sharing their work online and engaging with other artists and media users.

Why did you pick this solution, and how does it address the problem?

The app is designed to provide an artist-first social experience and have artists feel safe and comfortable using the app. Artegy offers different areas of interests for artists to mingle with their peers. Being an artist-first social platform, we provide features useful for artists, such as allowing them to sell their work on the platform or take commissions. Artegy’s group feature allows artists to reach out to other artists within similar fields of interest. We even provide settings on how artists would like their work to be shared on the platform.

Video Problems

We have put a placeholder video into our post due to video uploading issues. Here is a link to a Google Drive Folder that will have our video once it is uploaded: Google Drive Folder Link Here
