Art With Hearts

Our inspiration was how many talented local artists find it challenging to reach a large audience. Creating a website dedicated to getting these artists known will make a much more positive impact on the community and local artists all around the area. Our website brings together local artists to display their art and jewelry. They can contact us and upload their painting or other art with a description, and we do the rest! The paintings will be featured on the website, where users can look at them and give them likes on their paintings. The website may even organize events where users can meet the artists or buy their paintings at the events. This idea, however, came with its challenges. At first, we wanted to have a place where users could purchase the paintings on the website, but that would require collecting sensitive information and causing many problems. We decided to remove this feature and stick to buying only within in-person events, which would be much more convenient for the artist and buyer. Another issue we came across was using GitHub. We have not used GitHub before, so navigating the application took much work. However, we pulled through and created the code for the website using the tutorial we learned from the workshop. Although these challenges pushed us back, we kept going forward to create a beautiful idea for the artists in the local area. Our teamwork and time management allowed us to finish the work and have fun along the way! Art With Hearts can expand this idea to connect with regions beyond Philadelphia. This expansion will also allow us to make online auctioning or buying artwork available to the users on the website. Art With Hearts aspires to help these artists and create a community that will be impactful for all.
