Inspiration

Discussions with artists have taught me that

  • selling ART is hard
  • arranging exhibitions takes time
  • on small cities, only a few people will attend
  • hard to get feedback from visitors

What it does

The new way - VR ART GALLERY

  • unlimited amount of paintings can be added
    • easy way to get visitors' feedback
    • global gallery
    • easily add and change paintings

How we built it

Collaborated with two local artists

Inka Nordlund link Anni-Sofia Knuuttila link

BUILD WITH UNITY3D & MRTK3 & 3D MODELS FROM UNITY MARKETPLACE

  • paintings are loaded from the server using MRTK3 Databinding (loving that feature, Hope it keeps improving!)
    • contact forms are built with new MRTK3 UX building blocks. Another feature I really like and makes creating VR UX much easier
    • You can move around the gallery with the controller thumbstick (the input simulator was a great help to do testing without the need to always connect controllers)

App tested with Acer headset and Microsoft Motion Controllers.

What's next for VR ART EXHIBITION

  • performance optimizations
  • larger gallery
  • support for more devices
  • audio-guided VR tours
