Inspiration
Discussions with artists have taught me that
- selling ART is hard
- arranging exhibitions takes time
- on small cities, only a few people will attend
- hard to get feedback from visitors
What it does
The new way - VR ART GALLERY
- unlimited amount of paintings can be added
- easy way to get visitors' feedback
- global gallery
- easily add and change paintings
How we built it
Collaborated with two local artists
Inka Nordlund link Anni-Sofia Knuuttila link
BUILD WITH UNITY3D & MRTK3 & 3D MODELS FROM UNITY MARKETPLACE
- paintings are loaded from the server using MRTK3 Databinding (loving that feature, Hope it keeps improving!)
- contact forms are built with new MRTK3 UX building blocks. Another feature I really like and makes creating VR UX much easier
- You can move around the gallery with the controller thumbstick (the input simulator was a great help to do testing without the need to always connect controllers)
App tested with Acer headset and Microsoft Motion Controllers.
What's next for VR ART EXHIBITION
- performance optimizations
- larger gallery
- support for more devices
- audio-guided VR tours
