Inspiration

Arrow Way is a challenging obstacle platformer designed to test your skils, inspired by (Only Up!) all in a low-poly visual style.

What it does

Unlike traditional parkour maps, Arrow Way adds a light social touch: here players can socialize, challenge each other and have fun with friends by following the red arrow.

How we built it

This is the first world we ever created. We are two creators learning as we go: one is a Blender modeler, the other a new scripter exploring the tools of the Horizon Desktop Editor. The 3D models were entirely hand-crafted on Blender, while all the scripting was done within the Word desktop editor with TypeScript and through the block-based programming system in VR, using the GenAI assistant for the most challenging script. The GenIA of the engine was also used to generate the audio and sound effects within the world.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was understanding the new meta tools to make Worlds experience

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first development experience so we are proud to had created a real videogame experience and make it accessible to everyone, no matter if they play from desktop, mobile or VR

What we learned

We’ve learned so much during this project, especially how to use the new Meta creation tools, to build something that feels alive and fun to explore.

What's next for Arrow Way

As for the future of Arrow Way, we're already planning new floating islands, new parkour courses, and special rewards for those who reach the end. Each update will take the experience to the next level, both literally and creatively.
