Inspiration

The inspiration for Ark Healing (Augmented Reality Kit Healing) was the desire to build an app to help athletes understand how there body works better and give an immersive and interactive experience with human anatomy.

What it does

You're first greeted with a welcome screen that asks you what is hurting in order to diagnose you with an injury/illness and provide the respective interactive model. Before displaying the model, it asks you several questions in order to narrow down the choices further and get much more accurate prediction for what your illness could be. Finally right before the model it shows you the common symptoms of the diagnosed injury/illness in order for you to confirm these symptoms are indeed happening to you.

How I built it

I built it in Xcode 9 with Swift 4 using both the device simulator and my physical iPhone

Challenges I ran into

Editing, creating, and finding high quality 3d models and getting them to be placed in the correct proportions directly in front of the user.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • Interactive Augmented Reality IOS App
  • Learning about various 3d models and which ones are compatible with Xcode or how to convert them to the correct .dae / .obj format.
  • Learning about 3d model textures and how to edit them in Photoshop
  • Completing the project in time
  • Very fast calculations and load screens between each view controller
  • Learning to diagnose people based off of symptoms
  • Building a full Augmented Reality application solo in less than 24hrs
  • Never falling asleep ## What I learned
  • Different types of 3d models and there formats (.dae, .MAX, .obj, etc.)
  • Learning to interact with the augmented reality in Swift
  • Placing 3d objects in the scene and giving them the correct x, y and z coordinates and proper scaling. ## What's next for Ark Healing
  • Add more 3d models
  • Add more diseases/injuries for higher sophistication in diagnosis
