Inspiration
Aritzia strives to optimize the e-commerce consumer experience through high-quality, simplicity, and empowerment. Aritzia does not yet offer a service which summarizes and inspires a consumers loyalty and purchases. Offering aggregated data for each registered customer offers opportunity to reflect on their past year and plan for reinforcing their everyday luxury at Aritzia. Main inspirations and incentives for this project involve both customer experience as well as social activity.
What it does
Aritzia Analyzed aggregates raw data from sales at Aritzia per registered customer. Each customers summary statistics and analyses are then presented in an easily digestible and shareable manner.
These results include:
- total spent amount
- total purchases
- top colour purchased
- month with greatest purchase activity
- top colour
- top in-house brand
- aesthetic
Finally, the consumer will receive a sharable link with a clean summary of their year at Aritzia.
How we built it
Data is pre-processed, cleaned, and analyzed using Python. Then, all customer statistics are exported into a json file.
We made our mockups using Figma and implementation using React and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
Since we do not have the API, we used a dataset given in the hackathon package. The products included in this dataset did not align closely with those one might find at a fashion retailed (i.e., household items, children's toys, etc.). Additionally, each product did not inherently fall into a distinct in-house brand. For the purposes of this project, each project was assigned an in-house brand uniformly at random.
Some group members do not have experience in web development in React.js environment, so learning-on-spot was needed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have completed working scroll features into Aritzia Analyzed.
What we learned
We researched Aritzia's strong community and business model as well as the individuality of each in-house brand. We learned to use Figma to map out and design our pages before the actual implementation. Additionally, we learned how to use React.js for web development.
What's next for Aritzia Analyzed
A year-in-review feature may be used to advertise upcoming initiatives at Aritzia for social good (with respect to Aritzia's mission of sustainability, equity, and impact). Additionally, one may use a consumer's shopping history at Aritzia to build a virtual closet and recommend basics and other pieces that may contribute to the users style.
