ARITAGE

Inspiration :

Tourists often miss the historical depth behind damaged monuments. We wanted to revive lost heritage using immersive AR visuals.

What it does :

It identifies landmarks and displays historical facts in AR. It detects damage and overlays restored visuals of artifacts.

How we built it :

We used ARCore and Unity for visual rendering and interaction. A trained CNN model handles damage detection and recognition.

Challenges we ran into :

Ensuring accurate detection in varying light and angles was hard. Getting authentic restoration visuals required expert collaboration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of :

We recreated realistic AR overlays of damaged cultural assets. Our app ran smoothly on-device without needing constant internet.

What we learned :

Combining AR with AI adds real value to cultural tourism. Optimizing for mobile performance takes careful model tuning.

What's next for ARITAGE :

We’ll add multilingual support and voice narration for accessibility. We plan to let users and historians submit cultural content.
