Inspiration

While brainstorming solutions for this hackathon to support Ukraine, we came across this problem of mental trauma and anxiety among the war affected people. But what surprised us was the fact that even though mental health is a huge problem faced in the current century, there are very few remedies available for it! This inspired us to think of an idea which will address this issue. We wanted to develop something that would give atleast a small amount of happiness in their lives.

What it does

The solution that we came up with was a super app named ARISE, that helps in boosting the mental and psychological confidence of the war affected people. This application engages the users with a lot of fun activities and inspirational stories to motivate them. It also helps the users by providing resources for donations and monetary support. This app provides an easy to use translator which is also quite handy.

How we built it

The solution is built on progressive web applications using React JS as frontend and Python flask as backend connected with NoSQL Database. It also has a yoga pose detector built using a posenet model. Not only the artificial intelligence module is used for the pose detector but also for the quick translation module that helps users to translate english to ukraine or vice versa for connecting & interacting with people across the world.

The entire application is built on a plug & play module architecture which means tomorrow if we want to add or delete any feature it would be easily modified without touching the entire architecture. It’s a highly scalable architecture and has the ability to adapt more features in future. Implementation

Challenges we ran into

The journey of making ARISE was full of challenges as we have developed a Super App which mainly covers maximum possible use cases, integrating each module together in such a concise and easy to use method itself is a challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Integrating each feature so concisely makes it so easy to use.
  2. The idea of the project and future work is one of the accomplishments we are proud of. Our idea would help people in real life in dangerous situations to remain calm and always be supportive with family and friends.
  3. We propose one more compelling use case: The happiness module includes inspirational stories and fun Do-It-Yourself(DIY) activities which will help people build a positive mindset. Doing these activities as a group will help in rebuilding communities. This module also contains wellness activities which will help users to stay mentally and physically fit. It also includes activities that promote parent-child relationships.
  4. We are happy to work on multiple tech stacks which we learnt during the hackathon and implemented successfully in the project.

What we learned

  1. Throughout the project we learnt about MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas using Python.
  2. We are trying to learn about Microsoft Azure Confidential Ledger to implement DocLocker.
  3. This project can’t be done without the efforts and collaboration from a team with such diverse backgrounds in technical skills.

What's next for ARISE

DocLocker - During war people lose their property along with important documents; our idea is to implement a model where an unique number will be assigned to each citizen of the country, and with the unique number all the documents associated with that individual will be attached. a. Features to be added: Educational Documents, Property Documents, Financial Documents, Medical Reports and Personal Documents can be added to the DocLocker account. b. Medical Reports will help the government to classify citizens based on medical history. This will be useful during war for voluntary purposes.
