AriRest GBS — AI-powered Restaurant Operating System

AriRest GBS is an AI-powered restaurant operating system built by solo founder Artur Charchyan with OpenAI as a product and engineering partner.

The project is based on my real experience as a restaurant owner and operator. I have worked with restaurant software before, and AriRest GBS was created from the practical problems I personally saw in daily restaurant operations.

AriRest GBS is designed to connect the full restaurant workflow in one SaaS platform: warehouse, fridge and stock locations, preparation, dish, sale, payment, reports, analytics, and management decisions.

The platform combines several operational control layers that I did not find together in the systems I used before. This creates a strong foundation for restaurant analytics, AI recommendations, and future AI assistance for restaurant owners, managers, and multi-location restaurant networks.

During OpenAI Build Week, we focused on two major production areas: cashier, payments, cash control and finance; and canteen / central kitchen workflows for multi-location restaurant operations.

AriRest GBS also includes corporate client workflows. Restaurants can work more closely with corporate clients, while corporate clients can create their own menu requests and cooperation structure. The restaurant can review, approve, and manage this cooperation inside the same system.

The platform includes a QR menu constructor and loyalty tools. A restaurant can create its own QR menu and configure its own loyalty or bonus system. Loyalty rules can be separated by restaurant, hall, client group, specific client, and even by individual tables when needed.

AriRest GBS also supports cashier workflows, hall and table management, staff-friendly interfaces, currency conversion, reports, charts, food cost analysis, supplier analysis, timing control, and future recommendation layers. The goal is to help restaurant owners find weak points: supplier costs, product costs, slow operations, missed opportunities, and management mistakes.

The product is still under active development. Some modules need further refinement, and mobile adaptation is planned for a later stage. The current version is optimized for desktop and restaurant back-office workflows.

ChatGPT helped me plan the product, organize the architecture, structure the business logic, define workflows, and understand what should be built step by step. Codex helped turn these plans into working software, tests, and deployment-ready code.

I am sincerely grateful for ChatGPT and Codex. They helped me move a serious business product forward much faster and with much more clarity.

AriRest GBS is my attempt to show how OpenAI tools can help a solo founder build serious vertical SaaS for real businesses outside Silicon Valley.
