Inspiration

Women’s safety tools still rely on manual SOS. I wanted something that detects danger early and reacts automatically.

What We Built

SecureStep: an app that monitors routes, listens for distress audio, detects abnormal motion, syncs with a smartwatch, and alerts guardians or police without waiting for the user to act.

How We Built It

Used GPS tracking, Google Maps integration, audio analysis, sensor data, Bluetooth sync, and a clean UI with fast-access safety buttons.

Challenges

Avoiding false alerts, keeping background features efficient, and making automation reliable.

What We Learned

Automation improves safety far more than manual SOS, and simple UI matters for real emergencies.
