Inspiration
Music is a universal language, yet the barrier to entry for high-quality production remains high. We were inspired by the idea of "democratizing melody"—allowing anyone, from a poet wanting a backing track to a content creator needing unique scores, to turn their abstract thoughts into polished audio without needing years of training in complex Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).
What it does
AriaAI Studio is an AI-powered co-composer that transforms text descriptions or mood inputs into structured musical compositions. Unlike simple loops, EchoSynth generates multi-track stems (drums, bass, and melody) that are harmonically consistent. Users can input a prompt like "A nostalgic lofi beat," and App generates a nice and clean song.
How we built it
The core engine is built on a Transformer-based architecture specifically trained on MIDI and audio spectrogram datasets. We’ve used the help of AI to build the full stack App, that includes frontend, backend and storage.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest hurdle was temporal coherence. AI often struggles to keep a consistent beat over time, leading to "rhythmic drift." We also faced significant latency issues; initially, generating 10 seconds of audio took nearly a minute. We overcame this by optimizing our model's quantization and implementing a queuing system for user requests.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are incredibly proud of our final artifact that includes different features like: four language integration, feed system and music library and a polish functionality. Many others still to come during the update process.
What we learned
Audio is exponentially more complex than text. We learned that the "feel" of music isn't just about notes; it's about the microscopic timing and textures. We also gained deep insights into the ethical landscape of AI music, reinforcing our commitment to using only ethically sourced training data that respects artist copyrights.
What's next for the App
The next phase for AriaAI Studio is Interactive Refinement. We want to allow users to "hum" a melody into their microphone, which the AI will then arrange into a full orchestral or electronic piece. We are also looking into a VST Plugin version so professional producers can use EchoSynth directly inside their favorite studio software.
