What's next for Ari — Your Day, Made Easier

Inspiration

Every day, people face small but repetitive tasks that consume time and mental energy—organizing their schedules, planning activities, managing reminders, and deciding what to do next. Although AI assistants can answer questions, we wanted to build something that goes beyond conversation and helps people turn everyday requests into clear, actionable plans.

This inspired us to create ARI (Your Day, Made Easier), an AI-powered personal assistant designed to make daily planning more intuitive, organized, and user-controlled.

What ARI Does

ARI helps users transform natural-language requests into structured plans. Instead of manually organizing every task, users can describe what they need in their own words and receive a clear plan they can review and act on.

The project focuses on three principles:

  • Simplicity: Make everyday planning accessible through a conversational interface.
  • Clarity: Turn requests into organized, understandable steps.
  • User control: Keep users involved in reviewing and approving plans rather than making decisions on their behalf.

How We Built It

We developed ARI as a web-based MVP, focusing on a polished user experience, an intuitive interface, and a workflow that demonstrates how an AI assistant can support everyday planning.

We designed the interface to feel like a modern productivity product, with a dedicated brand identity, responsive layouts, and support for light and dark themes. We used AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation, explore design improvements, and refine the user experience.

Our goal was to create a functional foundation that demonstrates the value of AI-assisted planning while leaving room for future integrations and more advanced capabilities.

Challenges We Faced

One of our biggest challenges was making an AI assistant feel genuinely useful rather than simply presenting another chatbot. We had to think carefully about how a user's request could become a practical, structured result.

We also worked on balancing a visually polished interface with a clear and straightforward workflow. Building an MVP meant prioritizing the essential experience while keeping the architecture and product direction extensible.

What We Learned

Through this project, we learned how to approach AI product development from a user-centered perspective: identify a real problem, design a focused solution, build a working interface, and communicate its value clearly.

ARI reinforced the importance of human oversight, thoughtful interaction design, and rapid iteration when building AI-powered products.

What's Next

We envision ARI evolving into a more capable personal planning assistant with richer task management, calendar integrations, contextual recommendations, and more reliable execution workflows—all while keeping users in control of their plans.
