ArguMind-A bot which helps you debate

Inspiration

We’ve all been in MUNs where time slips away while typing arguments. We wanted a tool that gives instant, debate-ready responses. That’s how the idea of building the perfect MUN debate partner was born.

What it does

MUN Debater AI simulates real MUN debates. Enter a topic, and it generates debate-style responses instantly. It’s built with Streamlit and OpenAI, designed to save time and boost performance in debates.

How we built it

We used Python and Streamlit for the interface, and OpenAI’s API for debate logic. Environment variables keep it secure and portable. Everything was built and debugged under tight hackathon deadlines.

Challenges we ran into

We only got access to an OpenAI API key on the final day, so most coding and debugging happened last-minute. Because of time, features like uploading reference material, real-time lobbying guidance, and draft resolution drafting had to be left for the future.

What we learned

Planning ahead is key. Configure resources first, then execute. Hackathons push you to move fast but also teach discipline.

What’s next for ArguMind

We’ll expand ArguMind with advanced features and publish it as a free MUN helper — making debate prep faster, smarter, and more accessible for everyone.
