Inspiration: In a world where communication and persuasion are key, ArguMentor was born out of the need to help people improve their debate skills in real-time. Inspired by how debates shape opinions, I wanted to create a tool that offers immediate, personalized feedback to sharpen those skills dynamically.

What it does: ArguMentor is an AI-powered debate coach that listens to live conversations, analyzes them, and offers intelligent counterarguments, persuasion techniques, and even sassy comebacks. It’s perfect for anyone looking to improve their communication skills, whether in formal debates or casual conversations.

How we built it: We leveraged the Omi AI platform for real-time transcription, integrated OpenAI's NLP capabilities to understand and respond to arguments, and used webhooks to ensure the app reacts instantly to conversations. The app’s frontend is designed to be intuitive and interactive, making the experience seamless for users.

Challenges faced: Real-time transcription and context understanding were the main challenges, but we overcame these by fine-tuning the AI to give instant and relevant feedback. Integrating multiple APIs and maintaining the fluidity of the interaction also required significant technical effort.

What we learned: From API integration to real-time processing, the project taught me the value of continuous feedback and iterative design. We also learned how humor can play a crucial role in making educational tools engaging and fun.

What’s next: We plan to scale ArguMentor by adding multilingual support, advanced debate scenarios, deeper personalized coaching, and even integration with voice assistants.

Why it's impactful: ArguMentor is more than just an app – it’s a fun, engaging way to improve communication and persuasion skills. It’s accessible for everyone, from students to professionals, and offers real-time feedback that can transform the way we engage in conversations.
