Inspiration
I observed that while there are numerous zombie-themed games in existence, many focus on action and graphics rather than strategy and narrative depth. I envisioned a game that not only immerses players in the post-apocalyptic world of zombies but also challenges them to think critically, make tough decisions, and devise strategies to survive. The idea was to create a game that combines the allure of storytelling with the engagement of strategic planning, where every decision impacts survival.
This game, therefore, stands at the crossroads of interactive storytelling and strategic gameplay. It invites players to immerse themselves in a world overrun by zombies, where survival depends on the choices they make based on prompts. These prompts are designed to challenge the player, requiring them to weigh options, manage resources, and plan their next move carefully.
In essence, my inspiration was to craft an experience that goes beyond traditional gaming, offering a platform where narrative depth, strategic thinking, and the timeless allure of zombie lore converge. This game is for those who love to strategize, adapt, and overcome challenges, all while navigating the thrilling scenarios of a zombie apocalypse.
What it does
Defeating Zombies: Success in the game is measured by the player's ability to navigate through prompts leading to encounters with zombies. The ultimate goal is to devise strategies that are efficient enough to defeat zombies and ensure survival. Victory conditions vary, offering multiple ways to overcome challenges based on the player's unique approach to problem-solving.
Interactive Storytelling: The game starts with a narrative setup, introducing the player to a world overrun by zombies. Players are then presented with a series of prompts or scenarios that require them to make decisions. Each choice shapes the story's progression, leading to unique experiences and challenges.
Engagement and Replayability: With multiple storylines, endings, and strategic possibilities, the game is designed to be highly replayable. Players are encouraged to explore different strategies and choices to discover all possible outcomes and achieve the best possible ending.

Challenges we ran into
One of our initial hurdles was finding the right balance between making the game challenging and keeping it accessible to players of all skill levels. We wanted the prompts and strategies required to defeat zombies to be thought-provoking and complex enough to engage players deeply, without making the learning curve too steep for newcomers to the genre.
