Inspiration

Grassroots sports are bursting with talent, yet most local tournaments disappear without a trace. Player achievements live only in word-of-mouth stories, scraps of spreadsheets, or forgotten social posts. Meanwhile, small businesses that could be sponsoring and supporting these communities waste money on broad, unfocused ads that don’t reach the right people.

I saw a clear gap: there was no unified platform that documents tournaments, preserves player legacies, and connects communities with sponsors and fans.

That’s where Arena Link comes in — the missing link between local talent and global opportunity.

What it does

ArenaLink is an all-in-one ecosystem for amateur sports and esports. It enables:

-Tournament Management → Brackets, scheduling, results, and archives. -Player Profiles → Permanent digital legacies with stats, achievements, and highlights. -Sponsor Marketplace → Local businesses fund players/events and see ROI dashboards. -Media Engine → Auto-generated MVP cards, score graphics, short highlight reels. -News & Discovery Hub → Hot prospects, upcoming events, sponsor stories.

In short: ArenaLink documents grassroots sports, connects communities, and unlocks opportunities for players, organizers, sponsors, and fans.

How to build it

ArenaLink’s design follows a modular system: 1.Core Data Layer — Players, teams, tournaments, matches, and results stored with persistent IDs. -Entities: Player, Team, Tournament, Match, Sponsorship -SQL + API integrations for reliability and scalability. 2.Media Engine — AI-assisted tools turn stats into highlights and social-ready graphics. -FFmpeg + ML/NLP for clips, auto-generated commentary, and captions. 3.Sponsor Marketplace — Secure transactions (Stripe/PayPal) and dashboards with impressions, clicks, conversions. 4.News Portal — Grassroots ESPN-style hub with articles, interviews, leaderboards, and spotlight sections.

Challenges we ran into

-Designing a system simple enough for small organizers but powerful enough for franchises. -Balancing different user needs (players, businesses, organizers, fans). -Building trust in grassroots data where no reliable history exists. -Creating value without overcomplicating: many users are non-technical and need “one-click” simplicity.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Designed a business model sustainable for organizers and sponsors, while affordable for grassroots players. -Framed a vision that excites scouts, athletes, and local businesses alike.

What we learned

Grassroots tournaments are extremely fragmented, with poor documentation. Local businesses need hyper-targeted advertising, not generic social campaigns. Players and scouts crave consistent performance histories to validate talent.

What's next for Arena Link

-Phase 1 (MVP): Tournament creation, bracket management, auto highlights. -Phase 2: Persistent player dashboards, sponsor marketplace with secure payments, ROI dashboards. -Phase 3: Full ecosystem with Grassroots ESPN, advanced analytics, esports integration, and recruiter subscriptions. Future: Merchandising, collectible player cards (NFTs), livestream integrations.

ArenaLink’s mission is simple:

-Preserve every achievement, empower every player, connect every community. -Preserve every achievement, empower every player, connect every community.
