Problem statement Tracking the covid19 affected areas and possible people is going to be the major challenge as covid19 pandemic is growing rapidly all over the globe.

Solution If we want to track the covid19 affected areas then first we have to track all the locations or places that have been unknowingly visited by covid19 affected people.

And the main purpose of this app is to track the locations of all the people who are going out of their homes for some work(anything) in this critical or lockdown situation.

What it does

Use cases

  1. Track the visited locations or places by the covid19 patients
  2. Notify people who visited the same place as covid19 infected person

How it works

  • One who is going out of the home should add all the places / locations / shops / crowded places to the area-covid19 app manually[Limited to prototype].
  • This way we will have all the visited places for all the people who are traveling or going out of their home.
  • So, in case we find any person who is ill and found to be covid19 positive then we will have all the location and time history of that affected person.
  • The moment we flag that person covid19 positive on area-covid19 app, all the other people who visited all the places at the same time as the covid19 patient will be identified and notified.
  • All the locations visited by patient in last 14 days will be identified easily with this app

How to use

  • Login to the app
  • Just click mark button at the places that you are going to visit [Place name optional]
  • Keep checking the profile to see any safety notification

How we built it

Tech stack

Mobile app: React-native Backend API’s: Node.js Database: MongoDB

Currently backend is hosted on heroku for testing purpose

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completion

  • Basic prototype app is ready which includes following features:
  • New user creation using facebook login
  • Adding visits [it adds users visit location]
  • Getting the list of all visits of any particular user
  • See user profile
  • Marking user as a COVID19 infected person
  • Getting ‘safety notification/warning’ when any infected person marks himself/herself as a covid19 and current user has visited the same place that or next days

What's next for Area-covid19

Additional features for future

  • ‘Automatic location tracker’ using google maps instead of manual visit entries
  • Adding area or location specific tab to get the list of all affected areas
