Inspiration

Our children inspired us for the project. They like to play with Lego constructor and we like to create new software+hardware projects.

What it does

You can Start/Stop the train and switch railroad using a smartphone/tablet connected via Bluetooth.

How we built it

For this project, we used:

  1. Arduino 101 board.
  2. Servo motor for railroad switch.
  3. The long-range infrared transmitter with three transistors and LEDs.
  4. The Android device with Arduino Lego Train app.
  5. LEGO Train.

Challenges we ran into

Integrate Arduino, Lego train, and mobile device.

We're proud of the result of ours work.

What we learned

We learned how to work with Bluetooth LE.

What's next for Arduino Lego Train

We will add LCD screen for Train Station.
