Inspiration
Google Nest gave me and a friend an idea of a full automated home that you could control all things electrical with an app.
How it works
Currently, the app uses IR blasts to send signals to an Arduino which then detects what to turn on, or off.
Challenges I ran into
Permissions for the app were definitely something that got overlooked quite a bit.

What's next for Arduino House
Add Wi-Fi connectivity so that the user doesn't need to be in sight of the Arduino in order to control appliances.
