Inspiration
We noticed a gap in accessing essential daily services within our governorate. The inspiration was to empower our local community by unifying these services into one accessible, fast, and reliable platform.
What it does
Ard Al Fayrouz is a comprehensive Super App that aggregates vital services. It features integrated modules for chat, maps, ride-hailing, and delivery. It acts as a digital hub, transforming daily challenges into a seamless, connected experience for users.
How we built it
We engineered it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (app.js), leveraging a Service Worker (sw.js) and a manifest.json for offline capabilities and a native-like experience. For the backend, hosting, and real-time database rules, we integrated Firebase (firebase.json, firestore.rules). Additionally, we heavily utilized Python for backend tooling, including static analysis (static_analyzer.py), UI scaling (scale_and_polish.py), and automated security patching.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was ensuring the platform's security and code integrity. We had to write custom Python scripts (fix_xss.py, fix_xss_2.py) to systematically patch Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities across the app. Optimizing the CSS for various media queries and fixing UI structural issues also required dedicated effort.
What's next for Ard Al Fayrouz
Our immediate goal is to continue stress-testing our delivery and ride features, scale the infrastructure, and prepare the architecture for global expansion.
